about

“In the late seventies I got invited to be part of a music project recorded up in Morin Heights at “Le Studio". Included were Karen Young, Penny Lang, the Stephen Barry Band, Joel Zifkin, Danny Greenspoon, Bill Russell, Rick Whitelaw, Chris Rawlings... and so many others.
It was a fun two weeks. Out in the country, in spring, recording at a world-renowned studio and one of the most advanced at the time. This was my track. I play acoustic guitar and vocals." - David Young

lyrics

It seems like a long time
I’ve been climbing this mountain
It seems like a long climb
Before I reach the end
It seems like a long road
That I’m traveling on
And it feels like such a hard road
And it just goes on and on

Times I’ve felt like falling
I couldn’t hold on any more
But I looked up and saw the heavens
And felt a strength I never knew before

Times when I’ve wondered
What I was here for
Time when I’ve wondered
If I could go on any more
Many rivers to cross
And I’ve only just begun
But I believe deep in my soul
I’ll cross them every one

Times I’ve felt like falling
I couldn’t hold on any more
But I looked up and saw the heavens
And felt a strength I never knew before

The stars have been out shining
Longer than you or I
And the stars will still be shining
Long after we die
The feeling that they give me
Comes from deep inside
And the feeling that they give me
Reaches far beyond the sky

It seems like a long time
A long, long time…
